SDCCU hosts free paper shredding events at our branch locations. Help your community while also protecting your personal information by bringing all your old personal documents for shredding and recycling. Whether you are a current SDCCU member or not, everyone is invited to our free paper shredding events!

Shred-it®, the world’s leading document destruction and recycling company, provides onsite paper document shredding at no charge. Their trucks are equipped with advanced shredding technology, so your paper documents will be securely disposed of. Paper documents should be removed from binders prior to shredding, however, staples and paperclips are okay to be shredded.
Where Can I Shred Paper Documents for Free?
Protect your private information as well as the environment! Shred-it® will be on-site to provide confidential document destruction and recycling at the following locations:

Items that cannot be shredded or accepted:
- Batteries
- Binders
- Blueprints
- Electrical items
- Large metal objects
- Ink cartridges and toners
- Electronic media (USB sticks, CD/DVDs, tapes)
- Glass
- Pressurized containers
- Medical waste (pills, syringes, etc.)
- X-rays
- Food waste
- Cardboard tubes
- Hard drives
- Product samples
Please remove the items listed above from the paper documents you would like to be shredded.
Limit 2 boxes (10” x 12” x 15”) per vehicle. All documents will be shredded on-site.
