Blood drive held at four SDCCU locations helped to save over 201 lives

SAN DIEGO (July 8, 2025) San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), one of Southern California’s largest locally-owned financial institutions, partnered with the San Diego Blood Bank to host a summer blood drive at four SDCCU locations in San Diego, collecting 67 units of much-needed blood, which will help save the lives of over 201 people.

The blood drive helped boost blood inventory during a challenging time of the year for the San Diego Blood Bank. Blood donations are critical at all times of the year, especially during the busy summer months.

“We are so appreciative to everyone in our community who donated blood at our summer blood drive,” said Teresa Campbell, SDCCU president and CEO. “SDCCU is proud to continue our ongoing partnership with the San Diego Blood Bank to host blood drives throughout Southern California and save lives.”

More than 30 hospitals rely on the San Diego Blood Bank every day. With a shelf life of just 42 days, the constant need for new donations is critical. To learn more about the San Diego Blood Bank or for more information on the blood drive, visit www.sandiegobloodbank.org.
