SDCCU® Card Activation and PIN Set Up

Congratulations on your new SDCCU Visa® debit, credit or ATM card! Let's get your card set up so you can access your funds without any interruptions. 

To Activate:
Please call (800) 278-4443 and follow the prompts to activate your card. You can also log in to Internet Branch online or mobile banking, navigate to the Self Service tab and click Activate a Debit/Credit Card. 

To Create Your PIN:
Please call (888) 891-2435 and follow the prompts.

  • Can I set my PIN online?

    For the security of your account, calling the number provided is the only available option to establish your PIN.

  • How do I activate my new card?

    You can activate your card via the Self Service tab within SDCCU Internet Branch online and mobile banking, or by dialing the number provided on the sticker on your new card, (800) 278-4443, and following the prompts. You will be asked to enter the full card number, the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number or ITIN and your date of birth. 

  • Can I activate and set up my PIN by calling the same phone number?

    No, the numbers for activating your card and establishing your PIN are different. To activate your card, please call (800) 278-4443. To establish your PIN, please call (888) 891-2435.

  • How do I create a PIN for my new card?

    To create your PIN, please call (888) 891-2435 from the phone number that we have on file. You will be asked to enter your full social security number or ITIN, your date of birth and the CVV located on the back of the card. From there you will be able to establish your PIN for your card.

  • How long will it take for my PIN to be active?

    Your PIN will be active instantly once you set it up, and you can begin using your card immediately. 

  • Do I have to activate my card before establishing a PIN?

    Yes, your card will need to be activated prior to establishing you PIN. 

  • I forgot my PIN, how do I get a new one?

    For the security of your account, if you have previously established a PIN and forget it, we will need to send you a new card. Once you receive this card, you will then be able to call the number on the sticker and establish a new PIN.

  • Can I go to a branch and have someone set up a PIN for me?

    For your security, only you have the ability to set your PIN.

  • Why are you not mailing the PIN anymore?

    For more secure and efficient service, a PIN will no longer be mailed. Now you’ll be able to instantly set your own PIN as soon as you receive your new card. So there’s no waiting for the PIN to arrive via mail
